I heard she's getting sued for killing that lady on the highway. How can she get sued for money she doesn't have?

You can always get sued for a lot more money than you could possibly have. It happens more often than I'd like to think about though...
Not long ago a store owner actually successfully sued a couple homeless bums for over a million dollars for loitering in front of his store and scaring away customers. Fairly harsh for people who can't even afford a roof.

you can get sued for money you don't have; being sued is just issuing a court order saying to pay the person a certain amount of money. whether you actually get the money is a different matter.

I know! I feel so bad for her, I mean they are called accidents for a reason right? She wasn't intoxicated so i really feel bad for her. I think that the family is taking advantage of the fact that she is famous. I really feel bad for brandy. I feel bad for the family as well but i think that is a bit much.

Happens all the time. People cherry pick a big fat number. The jury will then knock it down to reality if they award damages.

Lol i was thinking the same thing, and if the charges stays she will probably just have to pay a good ammount yearly.

Anyone can sue for any amount...It's a matter of lawyers,courts, and juries to decide fair and equitable solutions....
I don't think she has made that much yet,might be though
