I have heard of people getting turned down for this. What would be the reason since you are assured the money back from the government?

You never actually recieve the check so theres no way to cash it. It goes directly to H&R Block.

It's a loan. If they think you will cash the refund check and not pay them back, they aren't going to make the loan.

They run a credit check, if you do not recieve a certain score, they worry the government will keep your return and they will be out thier money.

yes, you will be turned down if your return is less than a 1000.00 dollars.
