Why is it that Liberals think that gay people were born that way? And if gays can't change, why do they think that child-molestors can? Pedophilia is a sexual preference.

I am going to get beat up for this one. I believe sexuality is learned by your environment. Something happened or some experience caused those to become gay. Gays can change. What is latent homosexuality? It does go the other way. I know a few who came back from the Dark side. No pun intended. Child molesters? No reason for them on earth!

Pedophilia is also a crime, being gay isn't, unless some people get their way and make it so. What makes you think gays and lesbians want to change? I will never understand what business it is of other people what consenting adults do with their sex lives. If this is such a major issue for you I hope you are also trying to do something about people like Foley, he sure isn't going to change and presents much more of a danger than gays and lesbians.

Because it has been scientifically proven that the gay trait is inherent in your dna. You have it or you dont. And im not a liberal, in fact I beleive that both partys comprise of the same people and only majorly differ on about 3 or 4 issues. I also beleive that pedophilia is innate although that has not been proven yeat and they cannot change. it might have to do with giving people second chances although i dont believe child molseters shouldg et second chnces

Holy Cow!! What business is it of anyone's what happens in the privacy of the bedroom between consenting adults? And - pedophilia, while it is a sexual preference (like rape), is not an activity between consenting adults....it is a predator adult assaulting a child who does not have the maturity to make a sexual decision.

The very nature of your question is faulty. You have fallen into the trap of equating gay with pedophilia. Gayness has been proven to be biological. It has been proven by science. And what business is it of yours what two consenting adults do sexually with eachother? Pedophilia is about molestation of children and is about dominance and control, and is not a disease, it is psychopathological. There is a big difference there, and if you can't see it, there is something seriously wrong with your mind.

There are many types of genes and so many possoble combinations within a varying parental set that it could very well be that certain genetic combinations do indeed cause a mutated gene that would produce homosexuality to be the natural state

I'm a Liberal and I believe gay people are born gay. I have gay family members, so I've grown up with them my entire life. Since my younger cousin was about 4 yrs old. I thought she was a lesbian. After she turned 17 she admitted what we all ready knew. How does a child learn to "be gay" before they are 5? Why would someone want to live a life full of hate and discrimination directed at them (sometimes from their own families)? Answer that question.
I do not believe Pedophilia can be "rehabilitated." I believe sexual predators of all kinds should be jailed for life with no possibility of parole.

Well, good question. Agree with born gay, based on life, peole I know, myself, my son's liking of girls at age three, oh, and a book about a man from Sri lanka playing Bride-bride as a young boy.
But I agree, child-molestation is not curable. I really think it's not worth talking about trying. Sad, but true.
I'm sorry, but if we were animals, and not civilized, we'd be taking care of all of this the natural way.
They will have their lives in jail, or special centers just for them, and they can learn and create and whatever, and never have to worry about constantly fighting this horrible demon inside of themselves.

Homosexuality is a sexual preference at birth, pedophilia is NOT. They cannot be compared. Pedophilia is an act of violence and control, the sexual part of the act is a result of those feelings. The big difference is one is consentual and one is not. Homsexuals are born gay, Pedophiles have usually been the victims of violence, rape or other abuses. I do not think pedophiles can change.
EDIT: Feelsgood...I think you are confusing Bush and liberals, he is the one that is glady sacrificing lives in Iraq.

some liberals think that being a homosexual is natural... some just don't care if it is or not... if you're an adult, do what you want... it's America, land of the free, last time I checked... don't care why you do something...
some scientific studies even support the idea that it's a brain issue...
everyone (for the vast majority) thinks child molestation is a bad thing...
I've never heard of scientific studies about child molester's minds though...and if it's been proven that their minds are different... then that could be quite a breakthrough as far as potential treatments and the ability to reform them...
I think it comes down to science for many... and some people don't care about "why" as far as consenting adults go...

Homosexuality is not necessarily pedophilia.(So you can quit with the Orwellian word games)
Pedophiles can be homosexual but, for the record, most of the sex offenders are white hetero-sexual males who prey on girls.
Do your research.
There are studies that link homosexuality with genetics.Their are other studies that suggest hormonal influence and others choice.
My guess you would never even look into what homosexuality is unless it came out of some pre-accepted forum like Fox News or Pat Robertson.
Are any of your friends homosexual? Have you met children who are homosexual. Have you done anything to increase your wisdom on the subject-- besides reading material calling for burnings.
Wiki has some starting info. But I challenge you to expand on it.
