I have two pet rats and I can honestly say that they're amazing pets. They're clean, low-maintence, and really funny to watch and play with. I'm a college student and I don't really have time to take care of bigger animals like cats or dogs, but rats only require their cage to be changed once a week or so, and you just have to remember to give them some food and water when it gets low.
The best part about them is that each of my rats has a distinct personality. They've gotten to know me and they always get excited when I come in the room.
Contrary to popular belief, they don't smell at all and they keep themselves very clean because they groom themselves all the time.

I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a pet ferret. I love them all but the ferret is the most fun! I recommend them to any responsible person considering owning a pet.

I love Opossums and Donkeys and pretty much every other animal. I've raised at least 20 - 30 baby opossums. They're SUPER! and REALLY CUTE!!! I have 2 donkeys (female), Tzeitl and Rifqa.

My favorite animal is a dog because they are so playful and they love to be around you. They help you get your physical exercise and they are always there for you. I know I couldn't live without my dog!!!

She said ANIMAL, not PET. So, I believe the best pet is animals in the rodent family. But overall animal? That would be an elephant.

For a pet or just in general? I prefer black panthers myself long as they stay in the wild where they belong. Dog is my fave otherwise.
