Baseball requires discipline, you will need to standout in your classroom as well as on and off the field. Remember it is a privilege to represent your high school in any sport. You must do so on and off the field. It is the choice you make by trying out for the team.

It is all politics, most of the time the team is already created due to summer teams. Usually the coach wont even give you a fair shot. To be honest, I had the same problem and was never given a fair shot. Eventually I just gave up and concentrated more on school and work. I still keep my body healthy though. It is unfair but everything in our world is politics. Keep trying but if you ride the bench all summer, at least you have free sunflower seeds.

The coaches arent that ignorant. They are going to pick the best players. Just play with good fundamentals, do whatever they say, and if you are a pretty good player too you should make the team.

With great skill. With great skill comes great wins. And if you don't have great skill, you won't contribute very much to your team. When you try out, make yourself noticed. Or you can specifically target the kids you think the coaches will pick. Get big hits off the "already-picked" pitchers. Try to get out some big hitter. Make your name noticed. Always hustle and never give up.

AS a baseball player myself, I know how coaches can be with favoritism. If the coach decides to do wrong, that's on him. But, you must always give 100%, and always exhibit an exemplary attitude. Yes, exemplary. Because, If there's one thing I know, it's that coaches like kids who are coachable. and who have everlasting good attitudes. But no, it won't be easy.

Learn how to pitch! Coaches will most likley ask for pitchers to come forward during one of the first tryout's. You can never have enough pitching!
