Hey, a couple friends and I were thinking about going to the Virgin Islands for spring break (we are 18)--would this be a good place to go? Is one island cheaper than another?? Thank you!

Sounds like fun. It's a good place if you want to travel to other nearby islands as well. You could stay in St Thomas & visit St John, St Croix or even the British Virgin Islands while you're there. Just hop on a ferry & stay in Tortola or Virgin Gorda for a night to get a different experience. None of the islands is really CHEAP. You can get good deals if you book at a smaller place vs major hotel. Look at the tourism board websites for listings.

Depending on when your spring break is, you could also bump into St Thomas during their carnival (costumed mardi-gras type festival). Airfares may seem slightly steep & hotel bookings not as plentiful (double check the dates). It's, however, a festive time with plenty to do. There are other islands you could visit as well, but if you are concerned about being in a US territory, the USVI may be your choice. Good luck.

I would not get married in the Virign Islands and I live here! It sounds romantic, but be prepared for an island-wedding- that means little to no make-up, a very light wedding dress and if you're hair's straight it won't hold a curl and if you're hair's curly it might frizz up... I don't know- being sweaty on your wedding day is no fun. Yes- St. John would be the place to go if that's what you're doing- I reccomend staying at Gallow's Point in Cruz Bay (or putting up the guests there) if you have more bucks go for the ritz

It is expensive in hotels and restaurants. All foods are shipped and taxed. You may want to think about Costa Rico. Much cheaper and more diverse.
