I've always heard that more births happen on a full moon. My cousin was early 9 days on January 1st and she delivered her son. It was a full moon. I'm due on Feb 18, due to be induced on the 14th, but scared I won't make it past this weekend because it is going to be a full moon. I'm actually ready to have the baby, but scared I'll have to go in on the weekend and use an alternate doctor. Had a bad experience for my first pregnancy with an alternate.

What are your thoughts about the moon and delivery? Has this happened to you?

No, I'm not scared of giving birth. If you would've read my comment more thoroughly, you'd understand that I had a bad experience with having my first child on a weekend with an "ALTERNATE" doctor on duty.

I'm not European or superstitious either. If you can't answer the question, then don't comment please. I'm looking for knowledge or insightful comments, not smart-a*s*s remarks. Thank you.

i don't know exactly if there is actually solid proof...but i do know my sis-in-law has a hard time with contractions when there is a full moon and my mother-in-law's cycle is affected by the moon too. when i was in the hospital for pre term labor with my oldest daughter....(in there for 6 weeks) the nurses told me that there is always alot of excitement for them during a full moon because everybody in for the same as me has contraction problems too...the same can be said about storms too. it;s rather odd....have you noticed that some people act a little more mood swing-y during a full moon too??

I have heard this for 20 years, My wife and Mother-in-law both deliver babies and i have asked on several occasions. The Answer is definetly " NO " . Some times if there is a drastic weather change it will trigger early labor. But the answer is " NO " on the full moon.

This grew to become into meant to start happening until eventually now the apostles had all died. So, ok, that's a risk the Bible meant something else. in case you circulate to an internet site referred to as "a quick historic previous of the apocalypse" you will locate hundreds of failed prediction. And to be honest, lots of the folk in the international do no longer say that, for the reason that there are 6 billion non Christians and a pair of billion Christians . no longer even maximum Christians say it. in the process the stupidity over the exchange from 1999 to 2000 an American Roman Catholic bishop mentioned it ought to ensue in 5 minutes or after a million years. The Roman Catholics outnumber the believers in it happening "quickly" by skill of perhaps ten to a minimum of one. of direction the apocalypse quickly crowd say the Catholics are no longer Christians, yet as a techniques via fact the Catholics are in touch this is any incorrect way approximately.

No, in fact if you look at the data, just as many babies are born on the day of a full moon as are born any other day.

Why would the phase of the moon affect when a woman gives birth, anyway? The only thing the Moon affects are tides on Earth, but there are no tides in small bodies of water like lakes or people! You get a stronger tidal force from placing a grapefruit over your belly than during a full moon. Besides, the tides are strongest at full moon AND at New Moon.

I've heard it has something to do with the moon controlling water pull...? ya know high tide low tide? during a full moon it's suppose to have the greatest pull. i personally think you'd have to be really really ripe to pop according to the moon. i went through a full moon weekend the last week of pregnancy, it didn't pop me. i wouldn't worry to much about it. even if you did pop early your full term. the baby would be OK.

You can't post a superstitious question and not expect to get smarta** answers LOL.

No it's never been proven. It's total myth. I can't find a lick of evidence on any of the scientific journal websites/blogs I read, but there's lots of speculative sites when you do a Yahoo search. Nothing I'd trust though.
