drain out the gas or add a fuel stabilizer to it but I think it's easier to just drain it. clean off the bottom of old grass clippings, then drain the oil out of it. that should do it.

The recommendations I got from Honda include:
1. Drain the gas and run the engine until it's absolutely dry
2. Remove the sparkplug and store in a cool, dry location
3. Remove any grass clippings, clean the under-deck and oil it down.
4. Remove the air filter and clean out the intake.
5. Clean, sharpen and oil the blade.
I assume you mean a gas-powered Push Mower, and not a Reel Mower.

The last time you mow for the season let the mower run out of gas.Draining the oil would be a good idea but not that nessesary . Always change the oil before removing from winter storage.

Serice it just like you were going to use it. Clean everything, lube it all, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer or drain the gas. A shot of wd 40 in the cylinder is good too.

Love it!!! lol I still have a real 'push' mower. I give it some oil and sharpen the blades if needed. My hubby thinks I'm crazy.
