Assuming you work or go to school dayshift: After you are done upstairs, raise the temo to about 78 F while you aren't there. The A/C will still keep the humidity down, and won't have to wokr so hard when you dial it back when you are ready to retire for the evening.

Likewise, at night you can let the downstairs one get warmer while you aren't there.

If you leave for the weekend, you could shut them off altogether.

Remember that cold air falls. So if the upstairs is set cooler the downstairs one will not work as hard. As far as what temperature that depends on what you find comfortable. But downstairs can be set approx 5 degrees lower.
