every team can always improve

would have to improve 1 of the main 3 to get anything good in return as the wiz have little outside of that.

I'd trade Jamison if it came to it because butler outplays and outrebounds him.

Wizards might get the top seed but have a long ways to go to winning the East

Yes. Every team can get better by trading players. They cannot trade Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison. They might want to look over trading Brendan Haywood but I doubt anyone would take him.

If theres anyway they can get Paul Gasol yes. there best way to improve there chances is to improve there defense they have what might be the best offense in the east but the lack of effort on the defensive end lets other teams stay in games.

If they can get a better starting SF and/or C I think that they will be in contention to win the eastern conference.
