In 2006/07 financial year, the British government are going to spend about 550-600 billion pounds. Is this astronomical amount worth it?
Government really is the enemy of liberty. It taxes, spends, and always tell us what to do. To govern MEANS to control. Why should government tax us? Or tell us what food we can eat? Or tell us that we can't smoke tobacco?
I say a smaller government leads to more freedom. Who is with me?

I say a smaller government would lead to a dictatorship. The smaller the government the smaller the number of opinions to represent the 60 odd million people that live here. At least with a bigger government there is a debate. You could end up with a small government who despise smoking and ban tobacco full stop. Then who would you have to represent your right to smoke if they all wanted it completely banned? You'd be well and truly stuck.

I'm totally with ya!!! It's gotten so crazy with all of the government programs, rules and departments and such, that I'm expecting 'Big Brother' or 'Uncle Sam' to start a required dating department - picking out who we should date and marry. It's crazy!! Big Government Totally robs us of our freedom and money!!

LEFTISTS ARE SOOOO CREATIVE AND SMART, THEY THUNK UP A NWAY TO FIX EVERYTHING BY A-SPENDIN SOME MONEY.
Im weird though, I one of those guys who like politicians who come up with creative solutions. Farm out certain things, cut spending here or there...bring industry leader together and brainstorm...analyze the books...you know....conservative type approaches
