Look, I'm not an American citizen yet so I don't even have insurance, therefore I can't go to the doctor unless I want to waste hundreds of dollars (it ain't happening). Anyway, can someone help me? I mean, there seem to be a lot of health problems with me but I can never be sure since I don't go to the doctor. I have shortness of breath...ok my dad smokes around me a lot but my shortness of breath is almost ALWAYS there..but almost, not ALL the time, just most of the time. After we take a 1 minute jog in gym class, I get tired really fast and this "burning" feeling in my chest, that when I inhale, it gets "mintier" or I get a "really fresh feeling" in my lungs (don't know if that's the word I'm looking for). My back really hurts sometimes (but maybe that's because I sit straight in the chair for hours using the computer.....12 hours one time), when I move my head like really fast continuously it hurts. I sometimes get these really sharp pains in my head on the same spots.

It’s like a “snap” or “crack” in my brain when I move my head really fast like if I was going to look behind me and I turn my head. And when it happens, it hurts so much for like 30 seconds, then it goes away. I also get a lot of muscle contractions on my legs and feet, usually when they’re in a certain position, and it hurts so much when it happens. I sometimes get heart palpitations out of the blue. What the heck is wrong with me? I probably have heartburn, lung cancer (since when I cough, it sounds weird and it sort of scratches my lungs even though I don’t smoke…..it’s only my dad), brain tumor, and just about EVERY disease out there, or so it seems. And I’m only 15. I’m also obsessive compulsive, so this is probably just me obsessing over my body and thinking there’s something wrong with me….though I’m pretty sure there is. I don’t want to die.

Oh MAN, you can DIE from asthma? Wait, I knew that, but now that you all mention it, I think you're right, because I do wheeze a tiny little bit, like if I'm really quiet and I start breathing, I hear a little wheezing. Uh-oh.....what if I die BEFORE we get insurance?

Sorry for adding so much details, but I have told my mom, grandmother (who used to be a nurse) and a whole lot of people (even a friend of mine who has asthma) about my shortness of breath, but they all said they're sure nothing's wrong with me.

You sound like you may possibly have asthma. The rest of the stuff you were saying sounds kind of goofy. I mean if it hurts when you move your head back and forth really fast then just stop doing it. Sounds like your bored and a bit of a hypocondriac. Maybe start working out a little to get your body a little stronger and your immune system higher. Also it will keep you from being bored and from sitting at the computer for 12 hours. Keep doing that and you're going to have headaches and bad eyes along with a hurting back. You're only 15 yrs. old. You need to get exercise. It will helps you get some of that energy out. You sound spastic even when you type. Good Luck!

ok firstly i think your probably overreacting. The lung thing sounds like you might have asthma which is quite a commen problem especially if you live or have lived in a big city. this can be helped with a puffer or inhailer. and the neck and leg thing i imagine is to do with the amount of time you spend on a computer. 12 hrs with out moving is not quite right. i work in an office and i get a VERY sore neck back and legs. also wrists, so i think you are just a little worried about something that is prob nothing just relax and ul be ok

I am not a doctor so I can't tell you exactly what is wrong but give advice from experience. The tightness in breath might be asthma, especially since your dad smokes around you. Getting tightness in the legs and back after sitting in a chair for hours on end is just normal, and your body telling you to move. The head thing might just be you are making yourself dizzy from moving it back and forth so fast.

You have asthma, your father's smoking aggravates the asthma, you get tired really fast, because your oxegen level is low, this also causes headachs, the burning sensation in your lungs, after running is typical, of asthmatics. It would not cost a lot on money to go to a clinic, you need to get an inhaler, you would feel so much better. Your backaches are probably do to poor posture, while at the computor,(I find myself hunching over, and get bad shoulderaches, when I have been working too long) If I remember to stretch once in a while, it's better. But please get some one to get you to a clinic for your asthma. hope you feel better soon

I think most of your symptoms you can disregard. You might want to have the lung ones checked out, although it's very unlikely that you have cancer at your age. Mostly you probably need to stop focusing inward so much and thinking things are more serious than they are. A lot of that stuff is common but people don't really think about it or talk about it because it is minor.

Well your back pain and your headaches can be related to each other. My back pain causes me migraines. As for the shortness of breath, it sounds like you may have asthma. You really need to get that diagnosed because if left untreated you can die from your asthma. You can do exercises to strengthen your back such as sit ups, push ups, or you can get one of those exercise balls from Walmart and stretch out on that.

To be sure you are o.k. I would find a clinic and have them check you out. The shortness of breath could be ashma but the buring in your chest I do not know. I presume you are in school maybe you could explain your situation to the school nurse and she could listen to your lungs and heart. She could refer you to a free clinic or inexpensive doctor. Good luck. Charlotte
