I am a nurse and I have seen women do this. My advice would be only to do it for a special occassion, such as wedding night or vacation. It's safe to skip a few periods, but don't make it a habit. You'll be fine.

Yes, I've done this before. I usually skipped a period because of vacation or a special occasion. I just started a new pack of pills as soon as the old one was done.

It didn't have any effects that I know of. Sometimes when I did it I might have spotting for a day or so when the period was supposed to start but not like a regular period.

The next month I'd take my pills like normal and I'd get my period as usual.

Do you mean skipping your last week of pills (the sugar pills) and starting a new pack instead? If yes, then I did it once and the only thing that happened was I spotted for about a week. The spotting began the week after I was supposed to have had my period. Other than that nothing serious happened. I still started my next period right on time. Hope this helps.

If you are taking about using birthcontrol to keep your period away then yes I have. You can use ur birthcontrol and instead of stopping to have your period (the week you break from taking your pill) you continue to use it. It is safe to do as long as you dont go for more then 3 cycles without a break. Which is the same amount of time as the shot. As for effects it make cause you, you might spot (I didnt) and as for and bad things happening, not any more then you get from taking the pill to begin with.

Yes my friends and I used to skip the sugar pills and go straight to the active pills. I guess it had no effect on me because I went on to have 5 babies.

I havent but my sister does it all the time. It seems like every time we plan a trip she ends up having her period. Her doctor told her how to do it because she was expecting her period on her honeymoon. I think that it is pretty safe. Talk to your doctor about it.
