It has been suggested that the song title means 'you flag-waving ignorant geeks' as a lyric in the song is "All pathetic flag-waving ignorant geeks".

The song begins with a distorted guitar riff and cymbal taps, then suddenly comes in with lead singer Serj Tankian screaming, "Melt in the sun! Melt in the sun! Who wants to come with me and melt in the sun?!". After another line the song's chorus begins with a slightly slower tempo with Serj singing. In the second chorus, guitarist Daron Malakian sings with Serj, ("Realize you're blind/ And we're out of time") then the song gets slower and stops leaving the guitar playing a short solo. Then the other instruments come back in and the chorus is played again twice then the song ends slowly with the intro guitar riff playing again then breaking away.

One interpretation has to do with a criticism of president George W. Bush.

"Hide in the sky, hide in the sky, who wants to come with me and hide in the sky" is may be interpreted as Bush trying to hide in Air Force One when bombs fall. "You and me should go outside and beat 'em, beat 'em, beat 'em, beat 'em, beat 'em, beat 'em" This is how Bush supposedly likes to start wars. "All pathetic flag waving ignorant geeks and we'll eat 'em, eat 'em, eat 'em, eat 'em, eat 'em, eat 'em" Bush possibly saying all other countries aren't as good as the USA. "Come join the cause, come join the cause. Who wants to come with me and come join the cause" implies that Bush is telling people to join the army. "It'll show your mind that you have a mind" This may show Bush's lack of intelligence, according to the band.

Another interpretation of U-Fig relates to a reference from the Book of Revelations ("melt in the sun" being a variation of "melt in the sand", which refers to the wicked melting in the sand and being cleansed from Jerusalem, and "hide in the sky" refers to how the righteous will "be hidden in the sky by God and be safe from Satan's reign", or something to that extent).

This song also features the lyrics "Beat 'Em" and "Eat 'Em" which which is the name of a pornographic video game for the Atari 2600 by the name of Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em

Personally, I think it's about right-wing patriots being "pathetic, flag-waving, ignorant geeks." Their tendency to handle situations with violence (such as the war or riot police against student protesters in the past). He's saying if we go out a educate these people, we may be able to show them how narrow minded they really are (and misinformed as well).
