Hey all

I got my ear pierced back in summer. It was a stud. But I took it out 2 days ago because the stud was sinking into my lobe. So I had my friend take it out for me. Now it feels like theres a bubble inside my ear lobe and the hole is a little red and just a bit crusty. I will probably go to the doctor to get it checked out but I figured I'd get your opinions first since I don't know much about ear piercings.

Thanks yall!

Sounds to me that your ear is indeed infected. If you still have the solution that they give you when you get ur ears pierced, you should start applying the solution regularly until u go see ur Dr.

first of all where did you get the ear pierced?and how was it done? sounds a little strange that it is sinking into the ear ,the big bubble you feel inside is most likely grissle when you push a needle or something sharp through the skin it parts the skin to the sides...most places you go to get peircing use a needle that takes out the grissle as it goes through the skin so it doesn't have that feeling. if you ear is red and has pus then go to the dr other wise clean it with alchol and use neosporen orcamphoneque on it till it heals over

Your jewelry was too short so that contributed to your problems. I hope you didn't get this done with a piercing gun.

If you thought it was infected, you should have put better jewelry in. If you do have a true infection, it can now get trapped under your skin and an abcess can form.

An infection shows discharge that isn't white, your ear is hot to the touch and red. You might want to see if you can get proper jewelry back in so it can drain, and go get antibiotics from your doctor.

I was scared if my ears were infected too! (check my questions) Mine was also a stud. In my case, mine was going through my ear, too. I just pulled it a bit out and loosened it. Everything worked for me. I suggest going to a doctor first for the "bubble", because it may not seem too bad to us, but you never know, right?

so when you sqeeze your ear it feels like a round object? it could be a cyct pack. my om had those and had to have them surgically removed. it came up cause she was allergic to the metal but esentially it is a pack of puss (gross huh? lol) well i hadone when i got my ears pierced. took out my earring a week early ( i didnt follow the atercare at all) and tried to put bak in the earring and i kept hitting up against somehtign and of coure it felt liek a round ball on the inside. mine went away. but try to get the earring in. and see hwat happens. the earring could have been on to tight and caused irritation. or you could have had an allergic reaction tot he jewelry (if you recently switched your earrings) but an infection would be redness, swelling, yellow or green discharge. is the crust green or a yellow color? iif so you sshoudl put the earring ins to prevent the hole from closing and causing a worse infectoin) and do these sea salt soaks. it aids in healing and fights and pending infections or infections if they are already there.

good luck!

well, after you got your ears peirced, i hope that you cleaned your ears every days for 2 months with ICING's ear care antiseptic. the "bubble" your talking abot, do you mean its kinda swollen? the crusties on your ear are normal, but need to be taken care of.. i get thoes too sometimes.[yuck] at night, you should soak your earings in the stuff i just told you about to remove the crust on them if theres any. also, it disinfects them. keep using the antiseptic and your ears should go back to normal
