I was watching Montel on tv today. He was featuring Julia (can't think of last name) Anyway I think she is supposed to be psychic. I wonder if all that is for real or if a person just happens to be very very observant of people or what.

Yes, the ability to be psychic is real. A popular misconception is that only certain people are gifted psychics, which isn't so. Everyone is born with the ability to be psychic, however, there are a rare few who are overly sensitive to it.

Another misconception is that precognition (the ability to see the future) and other psychic abilities are supernatural powers. In fact, this "power" is as natural as you or I. Believe it or not, our brains work like radios. We can receive and transceive something like, 7.3 megahertz, thus we can pick up data. Make sense? If not, you can visit your library or bookstore and they should have a few "Idiots guides" on the subject.

As for "fame and fortune" psychics, they may very well be overly sensitive to their abilities, but that doesn't justify milking the public for all they're worth. I believe using their ability to gain fame and fortune is wrong. They should be volunteering their gift, not selling it like some sort of drug.

I am not going to go all into it, but I am about as psychic as a person can get.If I told you some of the things I have seen in visions or dreams, or just knew somehow you wouldn't believe me,I told a lot of people for one example. how I saw a large explosion in New York, before 911, I told people I thought It might be a small nuke,.I knew the exact time of my dear grandfathers death a week before hand. but I am not taking my time telling you all the times I have seen things that's happened later.or knew what was happening at the time somewhere else.but I am that way I inherited it from my wonderful mother.I think I will write a book about it all some day though.I took a Silva mind control course and Helen hadsells course also, and already was very psychic.Peace.Pray for Peace. the war of civilizations is coming
and also I will say that palmistry is a real art, I can tell people all about them so much so that they sometimes pull their hand back with start and want let me read any more.
and I can usually pick peoples astrology sign after meeting and talking with them for a while.& some times I can lay my hand on people for severe pain, and the pain leaves them emmediatly, that simply takes faith.

The ones advertising the loudest for your money or getting paid the most to be on TV usually know how to fake far more than what ever small talent they may have. Many of the best known are more smoke and mirrors than real talent.

That said, there are a few with a strong, genuine talent that see plenty that they keep their mouths shut about. There are even more with a multitude of minor talents that go unnoticed. One main reason is that if you tell someone you either get disbelieved, thought to be crazy, or worse get believed and get shut into a small room and quizzed on how you really got the information.

My rule of thumb is the more money they want for their "talent", the more likely they are fake.

Satan can imitate anything God can do. God still ahs prophets and satan has psychics, the fallen angels have been here since time began so they know enough about us and what can happen can predict will happen to make themselves seem real and then they give the info to the psychics who think they have a gift. Here is a website on the psychic montel always features about some of her predictions that she messed up: http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/

So far, all I've seen are fakes who are quite adept at cold readings. James Randi has offered a one million dollar prize to anyone who can demonstrate any type of paranormal ability.

The Foundation is committed to providing reliable information about paranormal claims. It both supports and conducts original research into such claims.
At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.

Sadly, most people who claim to be psychics are actually impersonators who are looking to make a few quick bucks. However, there is substantial evidence that shows that there are a very few people out there that have the ability to see things that we cannot.

be cynical and skeptical as I did a sociology report on them years ago and proved to my professor's satisfaction there is nothing to their " abilities. " after the class was over 10 years was still receiving ads from psychics I never heard of. the questions were answered in various ways to make the results questionable about producing accurate results.

I'm not sure who julia is, but sylvia browne was the guest star on my station, she is on every wednesday.........

I can't speak for her, but many of us are very genuine in our ability... we are sensitive to the world around us, as well as the world "beyond" us........the emotional side

it's o.k. to be skeptical, as long as you don't shut the door completely, without being read, by a truly gifted, knowledgeable, and compassionate intuitive

I would say those that use it to make money are most likley a scam. those that have the gift use it for helping others not for benifcial paractice and no one, can predict someones future becasue i doing so they will alter the events casuein it to not happen so most are fakes becasue if you have the gift your only shown bits and peaces not the entire event
