The best prizes I ever saw that were on the affordable side were food themed: like a $5 gift card to Taco Bell for the mexican craving, $5 for McDonalds for the french fry craving, $5 to the local ice cream shop...hold the pickles etc...the guest thought they were funny...but then they are really useful too.

I would try the oriental trading company ( www.orientaltrading.com ) They have inexpensive but practical gift and party items for any occassion. The only draw back is that you have to buy everying in quantity, but most are sold by the dozen.

I would go for some lotions or manicure/pedicure kits. For kids, maybe coloring books, construction paper, crayons, markers.

you could burn some cd's, like relaxation stuff, and give it away with a small thing of bubble bath and a votive candle....a spa in a basket! (all moms need unwinding...or anyone, for that matter!)....for kids, grab coloring books and small packs of crayons! cheap!
