Is taxpayer just a politcally correct word for slavery? I thought slavery was illegal?

Not really, but you make a good point, and show your sense of humor. They're taking our money, but we won't really be slaves until they take our guns. (And they're working on that.) Since we're on the subject, did you ever consider what % of the price of a loaf of bread - or any product - goes to reimburse the producers thereof for taxes paid? It could be close to 50%, and that's not including the sales tax we pay on the purchase!!

Taxes are a necessary thing. The government provides services that are paid with our taxes. Its when the taxes are misused that taxes become a burden. And when taxes are not taken from everybody in a fair porportion then taxes seem to be just another form slavery. VOTE. Thats the only way we can make sure taxes are used properly and that everyone pays their fair share.

No, paying your fair share is the right thing to do. The government needs supporting to carry out the services that the government provides.
