Your best bet would be to do a LOT of research before starting a business. Many people start a business and are then surprised to find out about various state and local taxes, licenses, etc. I'm forever hearing from business owners who whine and complain about how they're being "persecuted" by the government and are expected to pay their employees "outrageous" sums of money (READ: minimum wage). At which point I always ask, "Well, didn't you know about all this when you were putting together your business plan? Why does all of this come as a surprise to you?"

The answer of course is that they didn't do their research - they (wrongly) assumed that they could simply follow their dream, open up a business and the money would start pouring in.

Start at your local library where you'll find not only information on starting a business, but information about government programs and grants for small business owners. Also try your local community college or adult learning center (your local library will likely have school catalogs, lists of classes, etc.) where small business classes are frequently offered.

Also look into the success/failure rate of various businesses - some, like restaurants and small convenience stores, are notoriously risky.

Which is why many small business owners (or people just trying to suppliment their income) get started by selling on Craigslist and eBay - the risk of losing a major investment is practically nil and there's very little, if any, overhead.

Look Lucy owning a business is not as easy as some may thing but is definitely not as difficult as most people think..... Starting your own business is not a matter of having the best idea or the next revolutionary product, actually you find good ideas from a lot of people around you but what you rarely find is that one person that put that idea to roll and brings it to reality.

What i am telling you is that execution is the key... making things happen.... of course you need plans and of course you have arraignments to do and of course you have to analyze something before you start, but most people stays in th plans because they feel terror when they thing they are going to fail even when they have good plans, so they find all the excuses behind every possible problem and finally quit.

Other actually get to start but at the minimum obstacle they also quit.....which i don understand because in my experience the most difficult part is taking the risk of failure, some times it is just that people are lazy and the do not persevere to obtain what they want because they do not really know what they want.

A few years ago i had the opportunity to speak with a very successful person in every aspect of his life and he told me something i would never forget "Getting what you want is easy, knowing what you want is the hard part of life" and if you think it deeper than "all i want is money" you will see that the message is pretty clear.

Please don let your self be fooled with all the false promises you find today about easy money...... don't get me wrong i do think that money is easy to get once you find the real purpose of it and you enjoy making it... but i do think that there has to be work from you to get it.

Right now i am investing my money in several business like Forex, NYSE... i also own a restaurant in LA and i have a immigrants medical center and i sell calling cards to them.

The last one i started with really good company that does not ask you to invest a lot of money, actually you can start with 500 dollars a month... of course you need to have an immigrants (temporary or permanent) market to sell the cards but it is really a easy to sell product because the cards are great and they advice you well in how to start. If you like you can check all the information in the links down listed. I make good money with this business and it is very easy to manage.

I hope this helps you.... good luck ..

Are you interested in becoming a Home Indoor Allergen Control technician? This is a much needed service that is only now beginning to emerge within the U.S., although 4500 businesses have started in Europe during the past dozen years or so, and many more in Australia and SE Asia.

Home Indoor Allergen Control begins with reducing the #1 source (dust) resulting in poor indoor air quality. The U.S. EPA has begun a campaign in 2007 (www.noattacks.org) to educate the American public of the health hazards, some of which can be quite severe. The American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) just recently suggested that 50% of ALL ILLNESSES are caused by, or aggravated by, poor indoor air quality.

Household dust is composed of approximately 28 different allergens, the unhealthiest of all the allergens is the by-product "guanine" produced by the tens of millions of dust mites living, thriving, and breeding in mattresses and pillows. Across the U.S., 95% of homes have dust mites and 50% of those are considered to be infested with dust mites.

Not a single day goes by where some corporation is NOT promoting their own solution to dust mites...yet no one is promoting the best possible solution of all, avoidance by removal and reduction of the main source, dust mites in mattresses and pillows.

The business that I started provides the services of Home Indoor Allergen Control and because so very, very, few businesses in the U.S. provide this service, the opportunity is promoted to entrepreneurs who are knowledgeable of the need, have done their own research, and who would like to get into the business at the lowest cost possible ($1,995) and financing is now available through a third party.

There are 60 million Americans who suffer from allergies and 20 million of these persons suffer from asthma. Many more suffer from simply not being diagnosed of "hidden" asthma, perrenial allergenic rhinitis, and other illnesses.

The products listed below, while they may help a little bit, simply do NOT provide a proper solution to the ever increasing problem.

mattress covers (what about the millions of dust mites living in, or the allergens found within the "soft furnishings" such as upholstered sofas, chairs, curtains, etc.),

HEPA-rated air filters,

air purifiers, and

household HEPA-rated vacuums

I guess it really depends on what type of business you want to own. Probably the simplest answer is get a job in the business you would like to be in. Learn everything you can about it. Do every job from janitorial services to management* if you can swing it. While you are doing this live on beans and rice, and sock away every extra-dollar to start you own business. Get a second job (and a third) if you need to, to raise the capital necessary to get started.

Read business books like "Business Plans for Dummies". Attend franchise expos. Consider home based businesses like tax preparation or product sales (Mary Kay, Avon, etc.)

Consider contacting you local small business administration office to apply for a government loan. I've put the link to the national website below.

*Most owners and managers (most people really) are happy to show off what it takes to do their job, if approached respectfully.

In response to your question . . .

I recently discovered a new software tool for newbies that automatically creates professional eBay stores within minutes. eBay has an affiliate program with a 25,000,000 product marketplace. You can sell any product you want. With this new tool, your affiliate code will be embedded into the product(s) you want to sell. eBay pays you a 65% commission for each sell.

No inventory . . . no shipping . . . no credit card processing

My blog will direct you to the actual company. There you can create a mock DEMO of any product. Remember, the DEMO is very limited. It only use to create a mock store. However, you will see enough to get the general picture what the tool can actually do for you.

Wait a minute . . . there's a whole lot more to tell

Go to my blog now.

Opportunity is all around you. All you have to do is look. Try this as a start. Do a yard sale.

Benefits:
Zero capital (stuff you don't want anyways)
income is pretty much "under the table"
get a feel for what it's like to advertise, drive traffic to your yard, sales, customer service, etc. It's a good way to get your feet wet without losing your shirt.
