everytime I go downtown I see homeless people with dogs, and I think "why do they want the dog to suffer with them"?, have you ever noticed this?

In my opinion when I look at these "homeless people" and "homeless pets" I feel sad for the pet when I see them together walking down the interstate or city streets. The person who is homeless has more choices to find a home, employment and food. The pet is stuck and is lucky to get the nourishment and medical care it needs. The pet needs a home and a safe place to run and play. I know the "homeless" are comforted having a pet...but I'm really against them having one when the animal has to suffer along with them without a way to escape. I hope the day comes when both can get off the streets and find shelter and all the comforts of home.

Don't be too hard on a homeless person. Many have had some very sad things happen in their life and it is not necessarily their choice to not work. Many have mental illness. I think if they are able to care for an animal then why not. Look how many people dump their animals or do not have them spayed or neutered and these animals are left homeless. The homeless person may just be caring for and giving love and recieving love from a homeless little animal.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the dog was homeless too and only the homeless person wanted it and cares for it? They are surviving together and not dying apart. Our countries need to do more to help homeless people and animals instead of complaining about them. They are not homeless because they want to be - sad and terrible circumstances put them both there.

well, there's no way for a homeless person to keep a pet contained, so the pet must want to be with them. A stray dog and a homeless man probably get along quite well!

once you have faith approximately how a lot pictures, worming, and spay/neutering expenses, adopting from a shelter or rescue is the main inexpensive thank you to bypass. in case you get a puppy loose you're nonetheless going to could pay that a lot, and shelters many times only cost even, or below the vetting has value them. Plus there quite is not any such ingredient as loose, puppies and canines are a substantial rate, only like a infant. and that i could be very careful of somebody 'dumping' a dogs for any reason via a newspaper advert. regrettably human beings sell off canines for the worst of motives, many times because of behaviour themes that they did no longer care to make the attempt to establish in education. A shelter or rescue is your superb guess as long as you may handle the conventional maintenance which could be quite costly! And till now you get any dogs, or cat for that rely, make particular to have some money stowed away for emergency vetting. won't have the ability to rigidity that sufficient, no longer something worse than having an animal ill or injured and having to observe it die or go through because of the fact the owner would not have investment for the vet. The dog, I promise you doesn't mind, and more than likely the dog was homeless as well. Dogs & People alike are pack animals, they need other members. Therefore, since both were homeless anyway, I'm glad they found each other.

Well, that could be yes or no. They shouldnt have a dog b/c they have to take care of themselves before they could even think about taking care of a dog. And yes b/c it keeps them company. Dont you kind of feel bad for the homeless? They need someone to cheer them up, and that's why i have pets!

Yes. There is a homeless man in my area with a dog. I buy him and his dog a meal at least twice a week. I don't think they think about the animal suffering. Sometimes it is the only love they have.

Well the pet is homeless too.. and they keep each other company. It's fine I'm sure the pet is getting loved.. Some pets that live in a home have a terrible life of neglect.. at least the pet has a full time friend..

There are stray dogs all over the place, so it's perfectly natural that a homeless person would have a pet dog.
They are alike and can relate to each other.
