Ok.. This question grabbed my attention. I'm a season ticket holder for the Stars and would love nothing more than to see my boys in the final this year.

We started off with a bang didn't we? But oh how injuries can change that in a hurry... Here's my theory.. Take it or leave it.

In the past, Turco has been incredible in goal in the regular season. Needless to say, he's been a choke artist in the post season. This season, he's been just okay.. He's getting by, keeping a pretty constant record. Could that mean we'll get a stellar goalie in playoffs? We can only hope.

As for the massive amount of injuries... The rest of the team really had to step it up. We've seen Boucher show off his offensive skills. Hags and Ribs have had some success, too. Our Iowa Stars have had some opportunities to play in a few NHL games.. It's really advanced the depth of our team, which I believe will help us in the long run. We're getting our players back, and it will be a matter of time until they get back into the swing of things.

The presence Modano brings to this team is finally back. He doesn't even have to score to make us better. It's a huge boost for the Stars to see him back on the ice. Otter is bringing some grit back to the team. This team will fall back into place. Once we get Brenden back, they'll be a team to keep an eye on.

As for the Eastern Conference, Buffalo is a dominant force. You can't overlook them, but I wouldn't count out Atlanta or New Jersey. I like Tampa Bay, too. Vinny Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis are two fantastic players who can really give that team a shot. It should be an interesting second half.

Go Stars!

How are the stars a given Modano has been hurt for a while

Im going with San Jose for the West, they havent had a single OT loss this season

Penguins from the east. They are a young and powerful team, which is a rare combination in any sport. I pick the Penguins to win the Cup this year

The Penguins, because they have the same basic chance of making it to the Cup. Yeah the Stars are more experienced but I said BASIC chance. That just means both will likely be in the playoffs and it comes to luck after that. A bad break or bounce or an injury and you could lose a series real easy.
Oh and Recchi is 39 today. Yes he is the oldest and Gonchar is getting up in his years at 32 and is next in oldest.

The Stars are not going to the Cup finals. It will be Nashville vs. Buffalo with Buffalo finally getting the Cup that Dallas stole from them in 1999.

"Well in a dream world where the Stars make it they would play the Mapleleafs"
lol.. nice.. hard to swallow as a Leafs fan but its funny..

It'll be Sens and Preds'...

The hated Sens are starting to score again and the Preds have 2 hot goalies between the pipes.. both teams are currently riding 8-2-0 in their past 10 games...

You are assuming the Stars are going to be Stanley Cup contenders.
Wrong! Ducks in the West and Buffalo in the East.
