I'll just say a few that I don't think anybody else will say just so that you can get a good variety. Not all of these songs will seem to be "sad" just based on lyrical content, but the atmosphere of the pieces definitely have a depressing or otherwise blue vibe.

She's Gone by Black Sabbath (very obscure tune)
Drunk Kid Catholic by Bright Eyes
Cold by The Cure
Ballad In Plain D by Bob Dylan
If You See Her, Say Hello by Bob Dylan
Gloomy Sunday (many recorded versions, the most popular is by Billie Holiday)
This Train Don't Stop There Anymore by Elton John
The Eternal by Joy Division
Fallen Angel by King Crimson
Black by Pearl Jam
Danny Says by The Ramones
Tears by Rush (another obscure one by a well known band)
The Pass by Rush (more hopeful than sad, but still a good tune)
Dark Globe by Syd Barrett
Good Morning, Captain by Slint
Town With No Cheer by Tom Waits

There's plenty of others, these are just off the top of my head.

Correction - The Simple Plan song is called Untitled. And neither of those Bullet For My Valentine songs are sad. But Bullet does have some sad songs - try A Place Where You Belong, Say Goodnight and The Last Fight (the acoustic version sounds sadder than the regular one).
