I am almost 68, and I do not feel or act like the image I have of a "senior citizen" as being significantly slowed down and acting old or decrepit. I play tennis, golf, pickleball, table tennis, sing, hike, birdwatch, etc. I have had some medical problems as we all do when we get older, but I feel healthy and am very active. I am labeled a senior citizen for purposes of various discounts, and I am happy to take advantage of those discounts. That's really the only time that I am comfortable claiming that I am a senior citizen. Most of my peers do not consider themselves to be senior citizens either, so I really don't when or if people view themselves according to that label. I am glad that I am not there yet!
