Well first, put limits on the time he can play.
Second, make sure he has an alternate activity to engage in such a sports, a job, volunteering etc.
Consider challenging him, by making a bet that to avoid computer gaming for a period of time (say 2 to 4 weeks). In that time try to get him involved in other activities.

Computer games are addictive* because they allow people of easily achieve repeated small successes. This make people feel good about themselves temporarily.


*Addiction is way overused in our modern lexicon, but I couldn't think of a better word to use.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2. My first game. 2. Super Smash Bros N64. Self Explanatory. 3. Forza Motorsports 2. So life like, I love cars and I love racing. 4. Madden 2005. Vick was a god, averaged 400 rushing yards per game. 5. Halo 3, because I am currently kicking @ss in that game.

I agree with Jeffrey P. But, your teenager will eventually gets bored (When i played, it got VERY boring after a certain point...I had played for about half a year). If you do not want to wait, try doing lots of family activities, and keep him away from his computer =)

i have the same problem
reduce his computer time
you know that the game needs internet
you can take off the internet cable from the comp
try not to destory

hav u tried limiting his time on the computer. he is UR kid, after all. but if u dont want to do that, just wait. he'll get bored w/ THAT game soon enough. espically if hes over 10 and straight

try making him read once in awhile. or maybe go outside. you are the parent. if he eats too much candy you would take it away, right. get a clue

get him a better game and delete his account so he wil get bord of the new game and when he goes back he thinks his account got hacked
