Here's the problem -
My parents live in a forest which contains many, many squirrels. I visit my parents often. One time, after I had been visiting my parents for a little over a week, I started having all sorts of problems with my car. I took my car to the repair shop and was told that "some sort of animal had gotten under da hood and made a mess o' things." I was informed that the unknown animal (I quickly determined it was a squirrel or squirrels) had chewed up almost $1000 of various tubes and wires. I was also informed that they had to "remove an awful lot of nuts and nut shells from in dere." My question is this: How can I keep the squirrels away from my car? Does anyone know why my Ford Contour is so tasty to squirrels? I've never had this problem with any of my previous cars. Do you think maybe I should get a car that is less delicious? What sorts of cars do squirrels not enjoy having for dinner? I would really appreciate your help!

I have never had this problem or known of anyone who has but I was listening to Klick and Klack on NPR radio a few days back and they had a caller with a similar problem. Unfortunately the guys were not able to give a definitive answer to the questioned that was posed. They did however comment that someone had recommended to them to saturate the effected areas and other points of entry into the car that the squirrels might like with Fox Urine. It can be bought in concentrated form from Hunting Shops and I understand even feed stores. They had heard of some success with this method, the drawback is the Urine had to be applied often and it did not smell too nice, especially in the warmer weather.

Good Luck and hope I've helped. It will be interesting to see what others have to say about this.

This is gross - but it will keep squirrels away.
Find a friend with a cat or a dog, and get some of the "doo doo", and put it in the tread of your tires - and around the bumper.

They are natural enemies of squirrels.

GOD bless us always.

Should have put the nest in a more respectable place. if you get a nest again have a cardboard box ready for it. don't throw it away , or 2 boxes (one inside another) so it will appear warm for the thing. you can then feed it sometimes and use the trap once it has your trust.

When I first saw your question I thought that you might be referring to those Squirrels in the Geico television commercial.
