Matter is three dimensional substance. Matter is composed of electromagnetic energy. The basis for matter is found in the physics trilogy: E = mc2, m = E/c2, and c2 = E/m. Notice in this trilogy that the only unchangable value is that of "c2". This value is the basis of our physical existence. It is the value of physical time, of which we, as the rest of our universe, is composed. It is because of this value that all events pass from the present into becoming the past as the same rate of time.

Matter is mostly made up, by mass, of protons and neutrons; which are likewise made up of two kinds of quarks (up and down). Ofcourse there are electrons also which are elementary particles as far as anyone knows.
