I don't believe this is sexist, this just how it seems. The argument could be that women don't have to be funny to attract a man. This is true, since what I care about from a woman's personality is if she is kind, friendly, outgoing, has a genuine caring side to her. I mean I don't want a woman to be serious, but I don't really care if she makes me laugh from jokes or whatever, if she is funny then that's cool, but if she isn't then it doesn't really matter anyway.
But, I don't really laugh as much when women try to joke or be funny. For example, I like to watch stand up comedy, but I have noticed that it is the guys I laugh to the hardest and frequently. I want to laugh with the female comics, but only a few are somewhat funny. I don't think Ellen Degeneres is funny, and the other ones that I have watched. I initially thought it was because the guys were more vulgar, or goofier, but Sarah Silverman and some can be just as up to par. Do you agree, and if so why do you think that is

Men are not funnier than women! I'm the funniest woman out there. Men just need to be told they are funny so they will hang around and feel wanted so a woman can get laid.Ellen Degeneres is funny but doesn't count as a woman because her girlfriend won't let her.

You obviously haven't met the same people I've met. Among my family & friends there are lots of very funny women. Yes, there are lots of funny men too, but I wouldn't say that as a whole they were funnier than the women.

I believe there are more men who are funny. I think it is because the men feel more free to express the point; women are more afraid of being embarrassed by what they've said.

I don't agree. Women can be very funny but men often don't get the joke.

What's funny is based our own ideas of what's funny. What's funny to you isn't funny to me... Each commedian has got their own unique styles and humor. I don't even think gender comes into play.

Basically, I think men are funnier than women because we haven't inhaled as much hair spray.
