Sounds like algae. Just keep up with the cleaning. You should change about 25% of the water and vacumme the gravel once a week.

You can get snails and algae eaters, but keep in mind that most "algae eaters" do not eat algae, and snails are fairly small, so in turn they don't eat so much either. You are better just doing the cleaning.

Most if not all of the algae eaters that do eat algae get very large and will quickly outgrow the average size tank.

One last thing, the algae won't harm the fish at all. It just looks bad.

Most of the time algae in the aquarium are caused by direct hit of the sunlight, i suggest you relocate your aquarium. Your filter has also something to do with it, try to use over head pump. Consult aquarium shop near you, there are medicine being use to get rid of the algae.

Alge. Its good for the tank, it shows its healthy. As long as it doesn't run over the tank and take over(like mine did) it'll be fine. I often like to leave alge on the back of the tank so its not so bare and so I dont have to see an ugly pink wall......

If this alge bothers you and you dont like it, by all means go out and buy a chinese alge eater. They grow fast, get to about 6 inches, and can be agressive in their later years. However, Plecos(the big gray/brown fish) dont do squat. As they get older, they eat off the top of the water like any other fish!

If you dont mind a bazillion snails running free in your tank, they're a good option too, especially if you have chilchids. They love snails.

Hope I helped a little. And if you clean your tank out, remember not to use hot water as it can ruin the silicone seal.

Give the rocks a good scrub with a new pan scrubber. It's only algae!

Most fish eat the algea.

That's what keeps an aquarium alive without feeding for an extended period of time.

Who knows, maybe we may be eating algae one day.

It's just algea, and my brother has a ton in his tank. If you just clean out your tank it goes away, and you can get some snails or a placlasimic(don't know spelling). They'll get rid it

Its algae! Scrub it off, but don't use detergents whatever you do! Introduce a lach if it is compatible with your current fish. They will eat the stuff!
