i popped rolaids with my last baby like they were candy. they are totally ok to take. drink milk as well, it helps coat you stomach, plus it's good for you. if you don't already have it get What to Expect When Your Expecting. it is the prego bible. if you have a question it will have the answer.

I think you can take Rolaids though I'd call a pharmacist to be sure. They'd know. Rolaids is mostly calcium and that's in your prenatal vitamins. The doctor will tell you to eat small frequent meals to help avoid heartburn. I feel for you. I had major heartburn when I was pregnant but that's been 5 years ago. I can't remember what meds I took but I clearly remember the "onion ring incident of 2001" when I just wanted to die. What was I thinking?!

Zantac works the best for me. I've tried Tums, Maalox, and Pepcid as well and they don't last long enough. My doctor told me to go ahead and take Zantac 150 twice a day, regularly. It helped a ton! I recently stopped taking it because I figured I was over the heartburn and boy, I notice a difference! My throat is always sore, so I started back on my Zantac today. Milk only intensified my heartburn.

i don't know about Rolaids, but my doctor lets me take anything that is Maalox. I pretty much live on Maalox antacid barrier tablets. they stop the heartburn and keep it from coming back.
