A Canadian last year, Peter Frost, using DNA research, published a paper related to the origins of blond hair. It was a mutation, concentrated in the area known today as Lithuania and spiraled out from there due to natural selection, or, men preferring to mate with blond women. There was a man shortage then, about 11,000 years ago, due to the hardships of hunting and an ice age. Women with rare blond hair stood out from all the other women and were chosen by the few men more often. Why? The hypothesis is related to Cro-Magnon people of Northern Europe bumping up with Neanderthals. Cro-Magnon tribes had more advanced cultures and technology than did Neanderthal tribes. Blonds appeared first in regions of Cro-Magnon tribes and primitive people desperately wanted to be more advanced. Blonds were associated with those more advanced tribes. The notion of "blond" blood being "better" for survival became ingrained in our European genetic memory and cultures.

In bio i did about embryos and genes. The brown hair colour gene dominates the blonde one, so you have to have 2 blonde hair genes, basially im saying that blondes (even though there are lots of them) are rarer than brunette, plus not ALL blondes are attractive.

Ok, first of all Blondes are not dumb and not all of them depend on their beauty. I am a natural blonde, and I graduated no. 6 in my class. I also got into the University of Wisconsin-Madison. That's a great school and hard to get into. I hate that people say stupid things like that. I don't want to be judged by my hair color. I can't help it. And not all blondes are gorgeous, it all depends on your taste, and you probably just prefer the blonde hair.

Attractive to you?

Light/blonde hair is more a trait of the young. So you find younger women attractive.

Myself, I prefer brunettes.

so totally random side note- did you know within a few generations there won't be any blondes left. it's a recessive gene that will literally be weeded out by procreation becaue dark hair is more dominant. it's kind of freaky actually

Although blonds can be very attractive, I prefer brunette and black haired girls. The "gentlemen prefer blonds" line is wrong.

stereotypical...blondes are attractive. So whether natural blonde or dyed blonde, they tend to act the part. Just like if someone were to tell you that a specific feature about you was attractive, you would try to flaunt it and make sure people notice you because of it.
