Sure go ahead and name your child that. See how many people will make fun of her name. Children are horrible creatures. They can tease a person to tears and create emotional damage. Give her a real name. A good name. Something that people won't make fun of her with.

No. Please don't. Remember, a child will have to live with his/her name for life. Can you imagine what the kids in school will make up out of the name Manerva? Also, when she's ready to enter the business world, can you picture what kind of clout the name Manerva will hold? Believe it or not, a name does carry clout. No offense intended to those with the name Manerva, but today it is not popular.

Manerva? Do you want her to be made fun of? Parents need to also remember that your child will have this name for the rest of their lives. Would you want to be named Manerva?

Should be Minerva.

Manerva sounds too masculin.e

Minerva definately...much more elegant, and lovely connotations -Minerva the Roman goddess of wisdom, handicrafts, and the art of war- a strong powerful wise female role model who could be stern and soft

She'll get called a man with Manerva!

Minerva/Manerva - neither. I wouldn't name my child after a goddess - it's crass. I think Minerva sounds cool though, but I wouldn't do it.

Sorry but you should think of the kid and how much she would get made fun of. I think Minierva or somthing like that sounds better. Good luck!

It sounds very Old Fashioned/ Southern.

If you were to name you child this, be sure to give her a middle name that is more up to date!
