read in a very bright area and not somewhere that you are very comfortable or warm (comfort and warmth can help you fall asleep) or after you eat...especially if you have turkey or chicken

Well, I know what you mean. I find I have to read sitting up; if I am laying down, I always fall asleep. Also helps to drink some caffine like Coke or coffee. Use a bright reading light, best if behind your back...

find a book that will make you want to read the next page. One that you will want to share with your friends. If you have a book that you must read make a goal and stick to it. like i will read 9 pages and then play basketball
