Children aren't allowed to bring peanut products to school but I am shocked that the teachers are? Is this right?

I have heard that some reactions are just from having someone who has eaten peanuts breathe on someone who is allergic or who has touched an area that had peanuts. They also usually don't wash their hands after eating. I know because I have helped out there often and monitored this. There are just so many products out there that my kids enjoy, that are easy snacks that can't be brought in because it might have come into contact with peanuts but yet actual peanuts can be brought in with the teachers. They can't wait til they go home to have them?

Good point other staff members may be allergic as well.

I think it is wrong of them to encourage you not to do something and then the do the complete opposite themselves. I think they are being bad role models for students.

Well they should not allow that either because some teachers may be allergic to peanuts too, and it could cause cravings among them and they'll start eating them and start having seizures and fall to the floor and choked to death while that one particular teacher who brought th peanuts product in had to turn away for a while to use the cell phone to talk to a sick family member and ended up getting sue for bringing peanut products to school by not taking the time to make sure no one gets his/her hand on them (peanuts products). Good enough, yes?

Children share, without knowing the possible consequences of peanut allergies.

Teachers, if eating in the staff room, won't expose kids to the peanut products.

Yes there is another side to this.Teachers could be allergic to peanuts as well. Some teachers eat in the classroom but I am sure they would be well aware of the consequences and would not put students at risk.

No doubt there have been some tragic consequences to children getting severe allergic reaction to peanuts. But banning them from teachers? This sounds like more work from the food Nazi's, and our wonder liability systems.

Why the heck should teacher's be able to eat whatever they dang well please? We live in the US, not the Soviet Union for Pete's sake.

How big is the school? Is there a way to be sure that all the teachers are immune from peanut allergies? Do the teachers store their lunches in their classrooms or in a teacher-only area?

TEACHERS ARE THE TEACHERS AND IN THEIR STAFF ROOM CAN EAT WHATEVER. ALSO TEACHERS ARE ADULTS MORESO THAN STUDENTS USUALLY. STUDENTS MOST LIKELY WOULD THROW THEM AT EACH OTHER. AND GET THEM ALL OVER THE FLOOR .
