Menopause is a normal part of life, just like puberty. It is the time of your last period, but symptoms can begin several years before that. And these symptoms can last for months or years after. Some time around 40, you might notice that your period is different—how long it lasts, how much you bleed, or how often it happens may not be the same. Or, without warning, you might find yourself feeling very warm during the day or in the middle of the night. Changing levels of estrogen and progesterone, which are two female hormones made in your ovaries, might lead to these symptoms.

This time of change, called perimenopause by many women and their doctors, often begins several years before your last menstrual period. It lasts for 1 year after your last period, the point in time known as menopause. A full year without a period is needed before you can say you have been “through menopause.” Postmenopause follows menopause and lasts the rest of your life.

Menopause doesn’t usually happen before you are 40, but it can happen any time from your 30s to your mid 50s or later. The average age is 51. Smoking can lead to early menopause. Some types of surgery can bring on menopause. For example, removing your uterus (hysterectomy) before menopause will make your periods stop, but your ovaries will still make hormones. That means you could still have symptoms of menopause like hot flashes when your ovaries start to make less estrogen. But, when both ovaries are also removed (oophorectomy), menopause symptoms can start right away, no matter what your age is, because your body has lost its main supply of estrogen.

There is no set age for the end of your period. You can go through menopause anytime after your mid to late 30's. It is most common, however between the ages of 45 and 55.

It varies for each and every woman, so it's hard to say.

Usually you can go by when your mother or women in your close, immediate family stopped having their periods in their lives.

I know that my mother had hers up until she hit 50 and then suddenly she no longer had a need for pads or tampons. She's 55 now and hasn't had a period since before she was 50 years old.

when a woman goes into early menopause her period becomes very irregular... some women start by having a period every two weeks, every month... then after awhile her period will start to thin out, where her period starts later and later each month, until she doesn't have one anymore... some woman can hit early menopause by the age of 40... other women don't even hit menopause until the are in their 60's... hope this helped...

around 45 - 60 years old. it varies from woman to woman.. there are women who have the menopause much before the average (my aunt, for example). if your period came when you were really young, it will leave before you expect it. and vice versa. menopause is not a nice time in a womans life though... usually it comes with sweat, hot body temperatures, continuous tiredness... etc etc...
you can always consult a ginecologist, or a doctor... they will they you exactly.

Your goin to have to say something you need to wear pads or something otherwise your clothes will be stained and everyone will find out by seeing it on your clothes which is worse than keeping it between just you and your mom.. Its a lil late for this since you already started. But next time you go to the store go to the area where pads and stuff are pick some out and put it in the shopping cart. Your mom should get the hint.

depends very much on each individual's metabolism.

As there is no fixed time for women to start their pd too.

Healthy women will have their monopause bit later.

Dont forget to take ur extra suppliments as u hit the monop..

Usually between 45 to 48.

There is no set age when a woman will stop. Some women can go through menopause as early as their 40's, some as late as their 60's.

Every woman is different and that's how God made us. :)
