My husband and I are going 'on vacation' in the BEST city we know about ... and it just happens to be the one we LIVE IN. I won't tell you WHICH city, but I will tell you that there is 'another good relaxing place' right where you live, too. We've never done most of the 'touristy things' because we live here ... so we are going to do them on our vacation. For five days, we will not eat anywhere we've eaten before, or go shopping in any stores we've been in before ... the only thing that we'll do that we have done before is ride a ferry ... not the same boat, but on the same route at the same time we got married ten years ago ... and then we'll go back to our hotel room, order room service, and 'just be together' that night. Yes, it will cost us some money ... but not nearly as much money as it would to go somewhere 'very different' ... and best of all, when it's over, all we have to do is hop onto a bus and go home ... and that will be 'new to us, again' because we will have been 'away' for five days.

Considering people here in Chicago are acting like the Apocalypse is upon us since the Bears lost, I would like to go places whose ecosystems will be irreparably destroyed by profiteering and global warming in the future.

1. Iceland (those crafty Vikings!), more lush and green than Ireland with some of the world's best natural hot springs.

2. Australia for the Great Barrier Reef

3. Brazil to see the heart of the Amazon Basin. Walking into Ronaldinho wouldn't be bad either! Maybe at Carnival....

I'd love to visit either India or Saudi Arabia. Of course money is a big issue for me too.

Somewhere that I could be on a warm beach running my toes through the sand while drinking a big ol' fruity drink with an umbrella in it! Yeah!

All the way to Bora Bora to stay at the posh hotel with suites built right out into ocean. That would be ideal.
