Just accept yourself for being a good person who happens to be gay. Gay pride means to me that you don't have to hide or live a lie in order for people to accept. Just be yourself and be happy (no pun intended).

You just get to a stage where you do. I know that I wasn't proud of it initially because of all that I went through when I first came out.

What helped me was going to Pride celebrations. I went and volunteered on the ticket booth. I thought if I felt comfortable doing that then I might be brave enough to get out there. When I did get out there I was totally comfortable and so proud that we could be who we are.

Maybe you should try to join a group or something. I'm in a gay and lesbian bowling league and no one would be any wiser that it is a 'special' group.

I think that the time will come even if you have to help it along by getting out there.

First, you must be able to accept yourself for who you are. It takes time for you to get used to these feelings, and that it's totally normal. First tell somebody close to you; someone who would understand. After, that you can become more open.

As for pride, when your family and friends know that you're gay and accept you, you can start wearing ribbons or buttons that represent being gay. Wear them proudly, and when someone asks, just tell him or her that you're gay, and that you're proud of it. If they are decent people, they should be able to accept you. The first step is to be sure of yourself and letting someone close to you know about your sexuality.

You're feelings aren't anything to be ashamed of. You have every right to feel proud of who you are. I'm also gay. I hope this boosted you self esteem.

You will never be truely prideful of allowing another man to mount you like a woman. The man in you will always denounce the fact that you are viewed as half a man or as a punk by most of society including your peers.
It is the sexual urges that will keep you in the gay lifestyle, that's the perversion part of it but like the urges, the shame will be right there with you as well.

well, don't be. obviously, i suppose...
hm, well. i guess you just shouldn't be ashamed of who you are. people have to take you for who you are, and you should too. gay pride...um, well, don't think of it that way. think of it as "i am me and i can't change myself so YAAAY!"
i really don't know. i don't understand a lot of the whole gay pride thing myself, but people tell me a radiate it, (they ment it as a good thing) and i don't do anything differently. i'm just being me.

so i suppose, just be yourself.

If you are getting embaressed then you must think something is not ok. It is best you examine your self. do you understand that homosecuality is a choice, be it innoscently by so many.
You have to understand something to be strong about something. so think of it this way, if you accept it was a choice you made, then is it ok? If it is not ok because you are religious, or just unsure, keep praying, asking god help you remember the first act that caused you to begin constructing homosexuality. Then you can make your choice to stay in the lifestyle or not.

Embarresment is nothing to be embarressed about,

Look its just a phase, dont do anything concrete you might regret, nothings going nowhere, the world will still be there tomorrow.

Longtime gays just want to use you, your newness turns them on,they dont care about you.To them you are just chicken meat.
