what do we need for there to be a good snow storm?

cuz then everyone can jump around and point and say "see!! global warming couldn't be happening. look at the blizzard that just hit us" and then they can all go back to driving their hummers

-A strong Low pressure center with lots of moisture and cold air.

-Favorable wind direction and instability off of a lake and mositure. (only for folks near the lake)

Unfortunately this year, there's either haven't been enough mositure for most folks or not enough cold air.
