i've had serious and similar problems myself, and have worried about this very thing.
can you touch type? you may be able to do online transcription from home. for a doctor, etc...
EDIT: ALSO -- i would recommend that you post this question in "Women's Health," as well -- i think you'll get some more help there! =)
