i refuse to during the week but the weekends yeah sure. how do i get him to start fending for him self without a bunch of pi$$ing and moaning?
can he be re-trained?

The first thing to know is that men can never be "trained". They stay just about the same their whole life. So he's probably acting the way he always has when someone spoiled him. And he's probably still going to be irritated that you don't wait on him hand and foot anymore. But he'll learn to accept it. They always do. And if he really loves you (which I'm sure he does after 15 years), then he'll be happy that YOU'RE happy.

I spoiled mine while i was home with the baby for 2 years, now ive been working for 6 months and he's still acting like a 3 year old so i'd hate to think how much worse yours is after 15 years of it! i'm starting to think maybe theyre all useless! i'll watch and see if people have the answer so i can train mine too.

I don't know if that's the best way to say it, but I'm sure you 2 can work things out.
Sit down and talk about it at a neutral time (when no one is complaining or unhappy). Lay some ground rules that work for both of you. For example, X days a week you will be left alone to relax for X amount of time after work, X days you will make dinner while he gets to relax, etc.

Yes, but it will take some effort, take it one step at a time, start with something small, like picking up his dirty clothes and putting them in the hamper. After he gets the hang of the first thing, start on the next thing, like cooking dinner once a week. In return, you do something nice for him. Don't give up, it can be done. My husband and I have switched places, I work full time and he stays home with the grandson. He is learning to cook and clean and take care of the house, notice I said Learning.

well its hard since you been doing it for the past 15 years. You treated him like a child and now he is one. Just as a child would do, what will he or she do when they dont get what they want? they moan and cry about it till you give into their demands. best way to do this is be straight forward with him and tell him NO!

I wish I could answer, but if my husband gave me the luxury of staying home for 15 years while he put a roof over our heads, I wouldn't be complaining.

yes you can train yer man...men are like dogs..just dumber...train them the same way..scold 'em when he's bad and pet him when he's good...when you come home from work and he's made dinner..say "good boy" and give him a lil "treat"...he'll eventually get it..just be patient cuz we're not quite as smart as dogs
