Did they not run on the Promise of raising minimum wage, now they are stalling and fighting over the wording instead of allowing it to go into effect?

Republicans have a lot to do with that. It's not just the dems. republicans fillibustered the original bill, the dems are trying to get a new one passed. Doesn't anyone check these things out before making dumbass comments?

Actually it is the Republican's in the Senate who stalled it because they want tax breaks for small businesses included in the bill, to curb the loss of jobs that will result from the bill. The bill failed to pass the senate because it didn't have the 60 votes required to pass, while dealing with a domestic issue I believe. Or at least that is my understanding, I could be completely or partially wrong.

The idea of a minimum wage is ridiculous, it only hurts the workers in the end. If you want better pay, get a better job. It removes incentive, not to mention it doesn't actually do anything except drive up prices and inflation. Maybe it makes workers feel better for about a month.

The Senate Bill includes tax breaks for small businesses that the House Bill does not... the House democrats don't think the tax cuts are necessary. The are not "stalling and fighting over the wording" they are going through the normal reconcilliation process and a bill the the senate and the house agree on will be passed in a few weeks. The republicans did nothing to increase the wage in ten years -- and you criticize the dems for what will amount to a one or too week delay?

The Democrats are fighting the attachment of a huge tax cut to the minimum wage increase, not the increase itself.

Because a nation-wide min. wage raise would affect some and not others. Some minimum wages in states are higher than others. If they raised it to what they say, then some states wouldn't even have a raise because they are above that level, yet their cost of living is higher.
That is what all of the fighting is over.

Because the Republicans attached several "riders" to the bill giving huge tax breaks to restaurants and other businesses that use minimum wage workers. The minimum wage bill should be about raising the minimum wage. Period.

No Obama or More Obama. Frankly, as Biden said, the middle class has been Barry'd for the last four years. He's right. Enough IS enough. No Obama 2012. Any Romney 2012. In this case? Better the devil you don't know. Over the one you do.

No one who works for a living should have to live in poverty! The Government is saying that over eight(8) million people do not deserve an honest days pay for an honest days work! They have kept the people in poverty since 1997!! they are saying you don't matter, they don't care!! you will not receive $7.25 in full until 2010!! Would you work for 12yrs for a 17.6 cent an hour increase in your paycheck? The increase actually amounts to 17.6 cents an hour 1997=$5.15 2010=$7.25 DO THE MATH!! 12yrs,12yrs Are we suppose to be grateful!! Thats insane!!

The democrats aren't. It's the Republicans who want to attach a huge tax waiver and tax break for the rich again.
