The US hasn't thwarted anything including those four incidents that President Bush lied about in the SOTU address.

Yes those are both good things (although there is a suspicion in the case of the hijackings that the threat was minimal and the danger exaggerated for UK political reasons).

Both were, however, British successes, both were the result of police work rather than military action and neither had anything to do with the war in Iraq. So I don't really see why this should be made into a Democrat vs Republican issue.

Ehhh, have you ever been sound asleep in school? they don't hate you because you're free, they hate you by using Gulf warfare. this finished element began even as American troops used Saudi Arabia as a starting up aspect for his or her invasion of Iraq in 1990. regrettably, Al Quaida, a enthusiast Mujaheddin crew initially experienced by potential of the CIA to wrestle the Soviets in Afghanistan, declared that they could keep on with some previous decree that made them in a position to declare jihad on any armed Christians interior the Holy Land of Arabia. so that they grew to change into on their very own masters, a useless ringer for Viet Minh (also frequent as Viet Cong) did some a lengthy time period previously. yet after the 11th of September 2001, the allies of the U. S. were subjected to attacks besides. interior the united kingdom we had the London subway bombings, in Spain we had the practice bombing, yet another subway bombing in Russia, a suicide bomber in a procuring street inSweden top previously very last Christmas, an avoided attack in Canada, an avoided attack in Norway, and in case you count number Anders Behring Breivik as a terrorist, yet another one, this time useful, in Norway. nevertheless, maximum terror attacks hit the U. S., as you're the suitable target, the hardest and therefore maximum prestigious target.

The Democrats are now completely invested in America’s defeat. They have placed 100% of their ‘political capital’ on the table as a wager for defeat. They can not afford for us to pull a victory out of the fire in Iraq. Democrats like Hillary are hedging their bets by being cautious about calling for an immediate troop withdrawal because husband Bill remembers what happened to those “chicken little” politicians who voted against the first Gulf War.

Remember what happened during the congressional voting for the Gulf War I? Congress was full of democrat doom sayers who were predicting disaster (led by the liberal press, of course) regarding the U.S. decision to confront Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait. They were destroyed politically as a result of their weakness and cowardice as well as the American led victory. Why are we now seeing so many of the socialist Democrats out protesting the war after more than three years? The reason is because, in their cowardly weakness and their hate for this country, they smell defeat in the air. They’ve stuck their finger in the wind and decided that the American people are tired of this war and want out. The only problem is that the American people are really just tired of hearing that we’re losing from the constant drumbeat of negativism from the liberal press who keeps a daily log of the deaths in Iraq as if its some kind of TV telethon. Politicians are being forced, once again, to choose sides; to vote for our defeat or go against the liberal drumbeat of negativism and fight for victory.

Every time an international terrorist plot is uncovered (or succeeds) it reminds the Democrats of the truth that they deny, that is, there is a GLOBAL WAR on terror on-going, whether they try to deny it or not it will still be there. It’s not going away anytime soon (or in our lifetimes). Every time they are reminded of that truth they sweat and squirm a little more. The Democrap conspiracists who actually blame Bush for 9/11 and all the other foolishness are made to look that much more ridiculous themselves every time a horrific Islamo-Facist plot is unearthed.

Democrats are so heavily invested in our defeat they can not possibly afford for us to win the war on terror. They have too much at stake. They can’t face sneaking back into their underground crawl spaces for another twelve years, sulking, sniveling and complaining from the side-lines of power. Power that they have always believed was their birthright. They will not give it up easily, they have already ensured our ‘defeat’ in this country and they will ensure that we are defeated overseas as well.

Mark my words, if there is even a hint of our turning the tables on the insurgency in Iraq, Democrat (and cowardly Republicans) will pull the ‘financial’ plug (troops be damned!) so fast it will make your head spin!

Border Security ... The "Dems" can't acknowledge these successes, whether they're American successes or not. Begging everyone's pardon, but with few exceptions, it seems the focus of their campaigns (past and present) has been to complain, complain, and complain some more. But if you ask for THEIR plan, there isn't one to speak of. And this is how they'll lure the approval of the voters who are unintelligent, mis-informed, or who expect instant results/resolutions to all the world's problems. Complaining about problems is easy; actually solving them is another matter, entirely.

Thanks for the good and well-written question.

because for people to accept that bad is being avoided daily means that these people will have to admit that they arent safe and this is hard for people who want to believe in a utopia. it is very sad because those are the very people that think our military is fighting in vain. let's just hope that people wake up and see how much is being avoided because of the men and women that work so hard to keep us safe.

i do not believe people would give their lives for a cause they didnt believe in and i know the media doesnt report the full truth.
the full truth wont make for good ratings.

If they admitted that, they may be forced to admit that Bush's policies have actually made us safer. The liberals want America and her allies to be attacked so they can come out and yell about how they were right and Bush was wrong.

Because then they would have to admit that President Bush has been right, and throw their presidential chances in the toilet.
As long as the US, UK, Australia, Phillipines and other friends keep the heat on terrorists, who cares what the Dems have to say. They prefer loosing the war to loosing in politics.

Blind as a bat about the facts of the so-called thwarted attacks. Check out MSNBC's Olbermann commentary about the subject.

Which ones have the U.S. thwarted again? The two you mention were stopped by the Brits.

And doesn't this just go to show that the Iraq was has not stopped terrorism, and that it possible to prevent terrorist attacks without preemptive invasions of unrelated nations?
