I'm wanting to use it during winter on reverse. I heard it will force the rising heat back towards the floor and save energy. I can't remember which way it rotates.

The button on your fan goes up in the winter and down in the summer (hint: You want to "warm up" in winter and "cool down" in summer).

Not to sound sarcastic, but just stand under it and see which direction makes the air come down on you. Also keep in mind that heat rises, so I would think that you would just rotate the fan so it pushes the warm air down. Hope this helps, I noticed there were no answers yet.

I can't remember which direction, but you want it to go so that the air is pushed towards the roof. It then runs down the walls and onto the floor that way. The side of the fan vanes that is lower than the other should lead the way.

Daisy is right. You get the same amount of air movement either way. In summer feeling the breeze helps you feel cool. In winter you don't want to feel a breeze.

To the right, or clockwise. This circulates the warm air or pushes it up.
