It is hilarious watching liberals tripping over themselves giving this jerk a pass. Biden will go down as the shortest Presidential campaign in history! Not only is he racist, he should take the honorable way out of this mess created by his big mouth and resign. Maybe go into rehabilitation, as is the trend nowadays. Just go away, Joe!

Lila said it. Biden was trying to be complimentary. He is articulate (so was Clinton) . He was being very complimentary IMHO. What was racist about it? That he mentioned Obama was black? He is and he is the FIRST AA to be a REAL presidential contender (it is exciting for this nation). Jackson and Sharpton are nothing but HATE MONGERS who NEVER would've had a serious shot at any nomination. I am a conservative and I think Obama's reaction was quite admirable. He does not seem to be offended and it looks like he knows the statement was taken out of context.

People are taking some sort of umbrage to Biden referring to Obama as "clean".

You know what? The first thing that popped into my head was "clean" as in Obama doesn't carry around a lot of bad history, has no skeletons in his closet.

Think about it. Some of the others have a huge amount of shady stuff in their past, whereas Obama doesn't seem to have anything in his adult life even bordering on scandalous except he smoked a little weed and sniffed a couple of lines in college.

You are really desperate if that's all you've got!

Try an exercise unfamilier to cons: put the statement in context: Obama is indeed the first African-American who is a serious presidential contender. And Biden was simply complimenting him.

But thank you! If you cons are this bankrupt for ideass, the Democrats are a shoo-in in 2008! So thanks for the vote of confidence (een though that's not what you intended)! :)

How is that racist? Did you think Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton were mainstream, and they were the only African American democratic candidates in the past. Biden's right!. Obama IS mainstream. And, he's a hell of alot more handsome than either one of those afore mentioned African Americans, don't you think. I think the right will do anything to try to take the heat off themselves, including making something out of nothing.

It wouldn't make sense to be democrat and racist because all their policies benefit the poor which are majority ethnic at the expense of the upper class which is overwhelmingly white.

Little posts and blogs won't make a difference, people know where he stands.

I don't think he's racist, he's just not very bright and made an extremely stupid statement. If a Rep had made the same statement he would have already been forced to step down by the left.

Most people are racist to some extent. In fact, I do not know any that aren't. I know some that pretend not to be. We all put people into categories by their behaviors that we do not like.
Black against Mexican and White, White against Black and Mexican, Mexican against White. It is not our color that makes us racist, it is the difference in behaviors, lifestyles, beliefs and values. And I'll be darn if I want anyone telling me what to like and dislike.
