Yes; even if they have never been able to see, blind people tell of "seeing " colours and shapes in their dreams

I think blind people dream just like how other people dream. Blind people even though they cant see can still visualize in there heads. They can in their own way perceive the world and their perception is how they are going to dream. Im sure if a blind person were to dream something like being able to see, what they are dreaming is their perception of being able to see, just like if you were to dream that you were blind, all you can dream is what you think being blind is like. Just like dreaming that your driving is common place right now but, back 100 years ago when there were no such things as cars no one would ever dream that they were driving a car, maybe like a really fast horse or carriage, but not a car. another words you can only dream what you know both consiously and subconsiously.

If the people were born blind, they have no REM and no visual imagery; the dreams consist of impressions from the other senses -- touch, hearing, smell, and taste. If the people were sighted and then became blind, they have REM (if the eye muscles have not yet atrophied), and their dreams contain visual imagery -- but these visual dreams might cease to occur eventually
