That's a tough one. The legal working age in most states is 16. But when I was your age, I had a job working at a grooming parlor giving baths to dogs & sweeping the floor.

I would go to a small business, maybe a family-owned one & ask if they are looking for part-time help. Just tell them that you want to work a few hours after school & that you're willing to work for minimum pay. I'd try any place where they need someone to do odd jobs or dirty work (sweeping, window washing, basically anything that involves cleaning they will probably hire a kid to do). Or maybe try your local library. My friend worked at a library when she was your age.

Or you can just post flyers around town volunteering a babysitting service. Are you good with kids? A neighbor or friend of the family may be willing to hire you to watch their children for a few hours on the weekend.

Those places are probably your best bet since you're not of legal working age. Good luck!

There are different kinds of dangers with any job if you think about it. You may think it's hard to get a job at your age but everyone has been there and just think of in in the company's perspective. Why would a company hire you that can't even drive yourself to work over someone who has a family to feed and provide shelter for?? If you think babysitting is dangerous how can you handle a "proper" job?

I was the same way when I was younger but if I were you and you are concerned with college I would stay home and study and keep my grades up. You will have the rest of your life to work and trust me its not that glamorous. But you could babysit on the weekends or get a paper route if you really want a job.

My niece who is 11 just got a job at the local pony club looking after horses. She is an enthusiast and of course proved herself to the owners of the club. If you like animals you could apply to the local cattery, even some veterinarians will employ sensitive young people to look after pets.

I'm not sure if the age at which you can start working varies by state, you'll want to check that out. You can look into being a newspaper carrier, I don't think you have to be 16 to do that.

You can also do: babysitting, leaf raking/snow shoveling, house sitting, and pet sitting.

nothing legal, not till you are at least 16. For now you could probably babysit or help out a neighbor.

most major corporations will not hire someone before they are age 15. you would have to look into little 'mom and pop' stores in your local areas..i would apply at small hair salons to be a shampoo assistant or work in a pizzeria.
