I just purchased the Ray-Ban 4037 sunglasses and can't tell if the lens are glass or plastic? My pair has the 601S/48 polarized lens. I can't find much info on the Ray-Ban website either.

Thanks

Ray-Ban glasses are all plastic as far as I know. I guess you could check by how thin and light the material is (plastic's always much thinner and lighter than glass). And if you tap on it with your fingernail, glass makes a harder sound than plastic. If plastic, you would get just a little "tick."

Glass lenses are rarely sold in eyewear nowadays due to improvements and advancements in technology, and simply for safety reasons. Also, I don't believe actual glass lenses come in a polarized version, since the polarized lenses I'm familiar with are actually 2 separate lenses stuck together with the polarized layer in between.
