One of my friends passed away a couple months ago in a motorcycle accident. He had just barely turned 21. When it comes to something like this, you can't get over it. You need to get through it. Going to the viewing and the funeral takes alot out of you, but it helps you accept it a little. The best thing you can do is talk about it, even if it's to yourself. Say all the things you never got to say. If there's something that you used to do alot with that person, go do it. It helps alot to remember the past times because it gives you a reason to smile knowing that he/she lived a life worth talking about.

I've been graduated from High School for 25 years now. Lost a lot of friends, including some friends that I grew up with. Only time will heal this. You miss them...but I always remember the happy times.

A friend dropped dead of a heart attack at 28.. He was walking to work, fell over the side of a small bridge and landed in a ditch...they didnt find him for a week. I went to the funeral, mourned for awhile...and got on with my life.. I have ghost story to tell about him actually...if you want to know email me...its pretty strange. I feel like he's still around, so I'm alright about it.

A friend of mine was killed in a car accident along with three other people. Her other friends and I met together afterwards to support each other and keep her closest friends from falling too deep into their grief. It's hard to 'let go', and you don't have too. Just don't become too depressed over their death. Whenever I find myself thinking of her I usually say a little prayer to myself and it helps. Over time, you remember them with joy, instead of longing.

I have, twice. And you know what? You never really get over it. It is perfectly normal and healthy to grieve. So grieve. And then keep going, no matter how hard it is. It will get easier.

Do you mean "pass on" as in stop being your friend?
Or "pass on" as in dying?
For the 2nd one, no. For the 1st one, yes.
The same advice for both...only time can tell.
