10 + q - 3 = 6*5
we move the terms around on the left and get

q + 7 = 30

we subtract 7 from both sides

q = 23.

to check we substitute 23 and see

10 + 23 - 3 = 6*5
33 - 3 = 30

30 = 30

perfect!

10+q-3=6*5
You can re-write as:
10-3+q=6*5 - 10-3=7 & 6*5=30 which gives you:
7+q=30 subtract 7 from both sides of = sign
q=23
PROOF:
10+23-3=6*5 - 10+23=33 & 6*5=30
33-3=30
30=30

10+q-3=6*5

multiply 6*5
10+q-3=30
add 3 to the 30
10+q=33
now subtract 10 frm both sides
q=23

First, you add the three to both sides, giving you

10+q=6*5+3

Then, you subtract the 10 from both sides.

q=6*5+3-10

Multiply 6*5

q=30+3-10

Add 3

q=33-10

Subtract 10

q=23.
