divorce lawyers are some of the highest paid next to malpractice lawyers and depending on state the average income for a successful divorce lawyer is between
$150,000 to $225,000 a year.If part of a big invested firm they get company bonuses as well as their normal income that can sometimes add another $100,000 a year to that income.

My ex and I actually took that into consideration.... so we used the same lawyer, and it saved both of us a lot of money. No, this was not really an amicable divorce, but we certainly saw the value of hanging together on this one. Think about it.

Uncontested about 150 per hour and up, contested with children; $600 per hour and up and the ones like the movie stars use upwards of 4000 plus per hour. So it comes down to how much you can afford and just how bad do you really want out of your marriage. Paralegals who actually do the attys paperwork can be 100-1000s less and are just as good

Mine charged me $175/hour. My ex's charged him $300/hour. Of course, you don't always get to bill 8 hours each day and there are expenses to consider, such as office rent, supplies, secretarial services, and dictation.
