Please tell me whether you think it is appropriate behavior for a 30-year old American man to chat with a 14-year old girl and add her to his buddy list. Even if he met her 2 times and she is a cousin or niece of his friend?

I find this to be absolutely inappropriate, especially on the grown man's part. A 14-year old girl and a 30-year old man have nothing in common and she is a child who may not see it as inappropriate due to her immaturity.

Inappropriate....... Even if the chatting that they R doing is totally innocent their is no innoscence in that because she is a little girl and like U said there is nothing in common for them. What could they possibly have to say to each other. The problem doesn't lye with the child it lies with the adult in this picture. Someone needs 2 seriously have an ADULT conversation with this so called man don't you think?

Very wrong! Do what you can to put a stop to it. A 30 yr old man has no business chatting with a 14 yr old girl. Sounds like the Dateline "To Catch a Predator". If the police find out about this he could be in trouble.

I happen to agree with you. It might be different if he were a relative, I have my nephew and niece added as chat buddies and I'm 36 and they are both 14.

As you said, what do they have in common.

They have been outdoors-- in straightforward sight of buddies or absolutely everyone who cared. there have been 6 human beings there, so it wasn't a one-on-one romantic ingredient. If it regarded she have been attempting to disguise something, or if she have been nurturing a courting with one individual, that is suspect. yet for this reason, think of how this went down: "I delivered strawberries." "Oh, you only ignored Joan, she's out procuring with some acquaintances. we are all only having a pair beers together as we wait. right here, have a lager and carry around; Joan could be lower back quickly." She had one drink and went homestead. situation? i do no longer see it. What message grew to become into she sending her infant? that folk could be sociable with human beings of alternative sexes without being concern to grimy assumptions. Your spouse grew to become into only travelling. supply her the earnings of your have confidence.

I think it depends on the nature of their conversations. Could be thatshe is helping him our with a computer problem or vice versa. He might be a history professor and she has questions regarding a term paper she's working on. Of course these are jsut a couple innocent type scenarios and sure, it could be inappropriate if this is not the case.

Most likely, but not necessarily. My boyfriend is 39 and he enjoys emailing his friends' kids and my girls because he likes kids. He is in no way inappropriate and is just keeping in touch with what is going on in their lives.
If the guy is flirting in any way, that is definitely inappropriate.

Yes it is inappropriate and weird. Teens always have crushes on older guys but older guys are supposed to not encourage it.
